Home Monitoring Systems
For increased security, you may wish to have your home burglar alarm system monitored. Home monitoring systems are linked via the telephone line or cellular network or both to an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). An ARC is a permanently manned call centre whose staff is dedicated to monitoring security alarms and contacting the right authority – i.e. the police usually, or the fire services in the event of a fire. An ARC is bound by strict legislation which ensures the highest standards of operation.
Why Consider a Home Monitoring System?
Police respond to monitored home alarms. The police will no longer respond to a bell-only alarm unless there is evidence of a crime being committed. Police will respond to a monitored alarm which qualifies for police response. However if you have a bell-only alarm system you are relying on your neighbours to quickly come to your aid, which may put them at risk, and you cannot be sure that they will always be there to respond.

Personal Attack Button – Immediate Police Response
A ‘Personal Attack’ signal from a home monitoring system will be immediately policed. With a bell-only alarm you are again relying on a neighbour coming to your aid and in general, these days most people love to mind their own business. Most home burglar alarm systems incorporate ‘Personal Attack’ facility on the remote keypad, but a dedicated ‘Personal Attack Button’ can easily be installed anywhere in your premises.
Fire Protection
Most battery-operated smoke detectors are not properly maintained and a conventional stand-alone smoke detector may not activate fast enough to ensure the occupants are woken up in time. The fire monitoring part of the alarm system stays ‘set’ even.

Home Alarm Maintenance
In order to keep your home alarm system in working condition, we recommend that you service your alarm annually. If your current home alarm system is not connected to a security monitoring station, we would provide you with a ‘bell-only monitoring and maintenance service’.
With all of our home alarm maintenance contracts, you will receive regular testing of your home alarm system in line with European standards, the insurance industry and current ACPO Force Alarm policies to ensure the correct operation of the system.
At Safe Simple Secure, we have the technical ability to identify and repair any potential faults on the day of the visit. Faulty home alarm systems that go undetected will always develop into more serious issues that will cause the system to generate an unacceptable level of false alarm activations, which would likely cause a nuisance to you. If you have a wireless system, we will change the sensor batteries every 2-3 years and the panel battery every 5-8 years.
